Since April 13, 2020, the 116-bed facility has been the epicenter of Cone Health s pandemic response.It will close March 5, almost a year later. After closing the facility, COVID-19 patients who need to be hospitalized will be treated at Alamance Regional Medical Center, Annie Penn Hospital, Moses Cone Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital. GREENSBORO, N.C. After almost a year, Cone Health is closing its COVID patient-only hospital at the Green Valley campus.
As COVID hospitalizations continue to stabilize and decline across the state and right here in the Triad, Cone Health says it is now able to move its COVID patients to four other hospitals - Alamance Regional Medical Center, Annie Penn Hospital, Moses Cone Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital.

The top two leaders at Greensboro’s Cone Health have announced plans to leave the organization. This comes as a merger with Sentara Healthcare is pending.
Chief Executive Terry Akin announced on Thursday he will leave Cone Health later this year. Akin says he will stay with the health care system until the forthcoming merger with Sentara Healthcare is completed.
Chief Financial Officer Jeff Jones will also be moving on. According to a news release, the two executives made their decisions independently and for personal reasons.
