Vehicle owners in Noida can now scrap their old vehicles through authorised centres managed by Maruti Suzuki-Toyota or Mahindra. Although the process is simple and quick, less than 10% of the 1.5 lakh old vehicles estimated to be in the area have been scrapped through these channels.
Vehicle scrapping recently has had the government s attention to phase out old vehicles from Indian roads, reducing congestion and improving road safety for the drivers, reports PTI.
