The Delhi High Court on Monday extended the interim order for the reopening of five floors of Bangle Wali Masjid at Nizamuddin Markaz premises till October 14.

Several FIRs were registered in connection with the Tablighi Jamaat event held at the Nizamuddin Markaz in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown 2020 for acting as a super spreader of the virus.

Justice Jasmeet Singh said that no "Tablighi activities" and lectures can take place on the premises and only prayers can be offered.

The Delhi High Court allowed re-opening of certain areas of Nizamuddin Markaz, where Tablighi Jamaat congregation was held in March 2020 amid Covid and has remained shut since then, to enable devotees to offer prayers during the month of Ramzan.

Delhi HC allowed the reopening of area as extra space would be better in view of the Covid-19 protocol. However, the arrangements will be only for the month of Ramzan and will end with the culmination of Eid.
