Holyoke Planning Board greenlights $35 million Appleton Mill Apartments project; awaits state funding decision Updated May 12, 2021; Posted May 12, 2021 The former Farr-Alpaca Mill in Holyoke s historic Canal District is slated for a $35 million conversion into mixed-income rental units. The project calls for initially constructing 76 one-bedroom and 12 two-bedroom apartments, with 75 units reserved for income-qualified applicants. A second phase would build an equal number of apartments. The nearly block-long building resides between the Holyoke Police Department and the Massachusetts Green High-Performance Computing Center.
