Google-owned DeepMind claims its Gnome AI has found 2.2m new crystals, which could lead to various materials for future technology.

Google DeepMind researchers have trained a deep learning model to predict the structure of over 2.2 million crystalline materials.

Google DeepMind and Lawrence Berkely National Laboratory revealed that they were able to discover 2.2 million new crystals using the AI system called GNoME.

We share the discovery of 2.2 million new crystals – equivalent to nearly 800 years’ worth of knowledge.
