Candidates running for mayor or borough council seats in Delaware Water Gap, East Stroudsburg, Mount Pocono and Stroudsburg can go to bed early on primary election night, knowing they have secured spots on the November ballot. In each mayoral race, one Democrat and one Republican have filed, and none of the council primaries have more candidates than seats. Delaware Water Gap In Delaware Water Gap, Republican Mayor Larry Freshcorn is running for another term. Aubrey Levy, who ran unsuccessfully for borough council in 2019, is running unopposed in the Democratic primary. Voters in each primary can vote for four people for council, and each primary has four candidates.
