It sounds like Chicago Bears offensive lineman Teen Jenkins will miss some time due to a leg injury. But the timing of it gives the Bears some flexibility.

Velus Jones Jr. is one of the most fascinating players to follow at Bears camp. At a minimum, he makes for a great underdog story to root for this summer.

The veteran defensive end, who arrived in camp last Tuesday, did not play against the Titans — and might not play Saturday against the Colts. But he is confident enough in his practice regimen that he’ll be ready when the bell rings on Sept. 10 against the Packers.

It’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not in a preseason game, but Gordon’s big hits, rookie cornerback Tyrique Stevenson’s resilience and rookie defensive tackle Zacch Pickens’ impact (a sack and fumble recovery) looked legit in a 23-17 victory over the Titans.

Two big plays weren’t the only important moments in the Bears' win over the Titans. Several rookies played well in their first NFL action.

The Bears were last in the NFL in points allowed in 2022. But with a revamped front-7 and a more experienced secondary, the defense already has a swagger in training camp that has players thinking big. “That we’re going to dominate,” cornerback Jaylon Johnson said.

Davis has missed the last three practices and Jenkins the last two with undisclosed injuries.

Free agent pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue is reportedly signing with the Bears. The 2017 Pro Bowler has 19.5 sacks over the last two seasons.

My favorite development from Tuesday's Chicago Bears training camp practice had to do with wide receivers Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool.
