In the offseason, former Notre Dame football player and Navy SEAL Bill Wagasy spoke with the Irish lacrosse team. He asked each player to come up with a word that they’d want used to describe themselves. Jack Kielty’s word was “selfless,” the same word he uses to describe the Notre Dame defense and team as a whole.
“The reason Notre Dame has had such a great defensive history is because the guys who play in this defensive system are just selfless players. It’s never the ‘me show.’ It’s never ‘How can I get my name in the headlines?’ It’s ‘How can I get the play that will help my teammate make the next play,” Kielty says.
