High winds and rain that got heavy at times pounded much of the Corpus Christi area late Monday and early Tuesday.
Although things appeared to have calmed down by midday Tuesday, weather officials warned the storms aren t over yet.
Parts of Corpus Christi received up to an inch of rain in some areas Monday night, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.
Flooding was a concern in low-lying areas.
There were several reports of strong winds, especially in Jim Wells and Duval counties. Weather reports documented calls about damaged roofs and downed power lines in Alice and near Benavides. The Automated Weather Observation System reported severe wind gusts up to 70 mph early Monday morning.
