Some extremists have taken those clashes further unleashing vitriol, harassing opponents and even calling for violence. On Wednesday, The Guardian reported that Matthias Cicotte, an assistant attorney general in Alaska, is the owner of a Twitter account associated with the hashtag #DezNat which tweeted repeated racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic and misogynistic slurs or comments. The Alaska Department of Law is reviewing Cicotte’s online activities, The Juneau Empire reports.
