Over 50 persons, including children, benefitted from a medical outreach hosted by the Region Three Mother’s Union in collaboration with the Ministry of Health – West Demerara Regional Hospital on Saturday. The outreach was held at Parish Hall, Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara, and is the second of its kind.

As we passed the grim milestone this week of more than 400,000 Americans who have died from COVID-19, we take this moment to remember another five of the extraordinary lives lost.
James Glica-Hernandez was drawn to the stage and became a fixture on the regional theater scene in California's Central Valley. As musical director of the Woodland Opera House for over two decades, he mentored generations of young performers.
Friends described him as bold and unapologetic and someone who inspired people to live authentically. A self-described family man, James was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was 61.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — A Gwinnett County educator, mother, and friend has died following a battle with COVID-19.
According to friends, Maude Jones tested positive for the virus after being exposed while working at Rock Springs Elementary School.
The 68-year-old paraprofessional had plans to retire from Rock Springs Elementary after the fall semester, but friends say she never got the chance after contracting COVID-19.
“She basically said she was going home to quarantine for 14 days, but we didn’t know it was all going downhill," said Angela Coleman, a friend of Jones.
