In Fort Liard, N.W.T., residents are hopeful the next territorial government can address health care issues that plague the community.

At an election forum in Fort Simpson, N.W.T., on Thursday, Nahendeh candidate Les Wright was questioned about critical things he's said of the community's warming centre. 

On Nov. 14, N.W.T. voters will head to polls to elect the next Legislative Assembly.  The issues facing the territory are significant — the election comes after a summer of wildfires, and in the midst the impending closure of major diamond mines, a declining population and a housing crisis.

The 19th Assembly of the N.W.T. was shaped by crises, beginning with a pandemic just weeks after the last premier was sworn in, and continuing with disastrous floods and wildfires. Will these be on the minds of voters next month?
