Plymouth Christian won the first two sets 25-7, 25-11, but the third set was tied as late as 11-11, before the Eagles reasserted themselves, winning 14 of the final 19 points to close out a 25-16 win and sweep the match, officially ending Shrine’s streak of three straight regional titles.
Coach Mary Findling’s Royal Oak Shrine team defeated the Ventures, 25-16, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-13, to advance to the Division 3 regional, which will be back at Clawson Tuesday night.
Ranked No. 5 in the state, OLSM showed off its talents on Thursday night when it visited Royal Oak Shrine and earned a 25-14, 25-10, 25-17 victory to move to 6-0 in the CHSL.
