The punishment phase continued Thursday for Cedric Marks, an MMA fighter who was recently found guilty of killing his ex-girlfriend Jenna Scott and her male friend Michael Swearingin in 2019.

Marks, who was found guilty of the murder of Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin, tried to say his ex-girlfriend, Maya Maxwell, killed them.

The state rested its case Tuesday. The convicted killer, representing himself in court, will cross-examine witnesses on Wednesday.

Rebecca Adney dated Marks on and off for several years. Prosecutors say Marks killed Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin inside of Adney's home.

Cedric Marks was found guilty of killing Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin by a Texas jury. He now faces a possible death penalty.
