Louise Rose Larson, age 92, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023 at her home at Realife Cooperative in Rochester, MN. Born on January 12, 1931 in Eden Valley Minnesota, she moved to Minneapolis after graduating from high school in 1949 and met Roy J. Larson at the Calhoun Ballroom on Lake Street where Roy asked her to dance on the last number of the night, the “Moonlight Waltz.” Louise married Roy in 1951, and raised five boys in five towns in Minnesota, following Roy’s job assignments with the Minnesota State Highway Department. A devoted wife and mother, Louise’s life revolved around family, the Catholic church, and her love of God in Christ. These sustained her through the challenges of managing a large family, the grief of tending to her son Steven, who, over a period of nearly three years, eventually succumbed to cancer as a teenager in 1971, and to the loss of her husband in 2011.
