ANGELES CITY, Pampanga - The city government here has tightened health protocols by issuing a liquor ban to curb the increasing number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections. An executive order issued by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. on Friday said residents are not allowed to consume alcoholic beverages in public places. Selling, serving, and/or delivery of alcohol, wine, beer, liquor, and other intoxicating beverages will be strictly prohibited from January 8 to 15. "Due to the rapidly rising number of daily Covid-19 positive cases and growing concerns with the Omicron variant, there is a need to exact measures to limit the conduct of activities that could potentially spread the virus," Lazatin said in his order.
