Armstrong, IA (KICD)– The Armstrong City Council continued its discussion Monday night on how it would like policing to look following some disagreement on numbers presented by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Mike Martens tells KICD News the debate over costs has been resolved following some additional meeting time outside of the regular council meeting.
Sheriff Martens the agreement would have the county absorbing the benefits being paid to deputies patrolling the City of Armstrong.
The final agreement is expected to cost the city just under five thousand dollars a month. No official action was taken on the matter Monday evening following a request from Mayor David Grussing to table it pending the results of Tuesday’s special election.
