Ocean City has hired a labor attorney with experience in employment workplace investigations to conduct an internal probe of the sexual misconduct claims that have recently been made against several employees of the Jersey Shore destination's beach patrol. The internal probe will work in concert with the investigation being conducted by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office.
Mayor Jay Gillian said Tuesday that the city is handling allegations of sexual misconduct made against the Ocean City Beach Patrol with the "utmost urgency."
Effective immediately, he has appointed his aide Michael Allegretto to oversee operations of the beach patrol and undertake a number of steps, the mayor announced in a statement.
