Were out in the information battle zone so to speak, were coming from saudi arabia. i mean, they had a very sophisticated anti-opposition information attack process. and, you know, one of the closest friends of mohammed bin salman was his chief propagandist, but that being said that this would enter our informations sphere and go into right wing media especially with regards to, you know, the accusation of him being a member of the muslim brother hood, which by the way if you dont know it in the...

Arabian crown prince ordered the assassination of khashoggi. khashoggi as youll recall went missing and was presumed dead after thee entered the saudi consulate in turkey early last month and never walked back out. for many weeks now it has been widely suspected that the saudi crown prince has been responsible for khashoggis death. with turkish officials providing mounting evidence to back up the allegation. but tonight for the first time "the post" and nbc news are reporting that the u.s. intel...

President erdogan of turkey, frankly, has been stronger in advocating for answers and for justice for khashoggi, a "washington post" journalist, and the virginia resident than our own president. what this says is just that hes basically willing, trump is basically willing to help in the saudis basically getting away with murder. they have admitted that it was saudi officials that carried out this heinous crime, but from the beginning, anyone whos familiar with saudi arabia, if jamal were here hi...

Been fully briefed on it. theres no reason to hear it. i said should i, they said you shouldnt. chris: what happened? >> it was violent and vicious and terrible. chris: a month ago you said you had spoken with saudi crown prince mohamed bin salman and told you directly he had no knowledge of this. >> thats right. still does. chris: some of the people closest to him, closest advisers were part of this, did mbs lied to you, sir? >> i dont know, who can really know. i can say this he has many peopl...

Over when it was quite clear he himself had ordered this murder. we knew it was premeditated. salmans close associated with in istanbul many we knew that the turks were claiming that there was high level of saudi complicity in there, and yet mike pompeo went over there and he stood there shaking hands with mohamed bin salman, smiling the whole time. i think the response would be something akin to what we have seen in other punitive cases where there are sanctions leveled, where a reevaluation of...

Is one of the killers calling an aide to mbs and saying tell your boss the deed is done or something like that, of course in arabic. this is a situation in which turkey by putting out this information and other sources here in the united states making it clear that the evidence is very glaring here, are putting president trump in a position he doesnt want to be in and its sort of analogous to the intelligence community saying russia was trying to help him win the 2016 elections and he keeps sayi...

Person that michael flynn was supposed to be secretly paid $15 million for to extradition him back to turkey and his death. >> that is the disturbing piece, the idea of turning this man over in exchange for information, and some of the information we know that the cia examined multiple sources of intelligence, including a phone call that the princes brother told khashoggi he should go to the saudi consulate in istanbul to retrieve documents and gave him assurances that it would be safe to do so....

Cites. >> exactly. so the oil that they have, he doesnt want to let go of the arms sales to them and he believes someone else will sell them the same arms. why lose american business. hes glossing over and pretending it doesnt happen. thats his own reality bubble saying this is the way its going to be. >> are we going to learn more thanksgiving day or soon thereafter? >> we certainly could. at least is it relates to saudi arabia, i think this will be a situation where the presidents hand is forc...

Heres what the president said about that. >> we have the tape. i dont want to hear the tape. no reason for me to hear the tape. >> why dont you want to hear it, sir? >> because its a suffering tape. its a terrible tape. ive been fully briefed on it. i said to the people, should i? they said you really shouldnt. theres no reason. i know everything that went on on the tape. >> and what happened? >> it was very violent, very vicious, and terrible. >> so charlie, the final report on khashoggi and th...

Well, the president promised new answers by tuesday after his administration receives a full report. joining me now is karen, khashoggis colleague at the "washington post." and their global opinions editor. great to have you with us. first, let me get your take and weigh in, if you can, on the presidents response thus far, especially now that weve confirmed that the cia has this assessment that, in fact, mbs as he is known in saudi arabia, knows of this killing and tried to keep his distance fro...
