Bin solomons evolving stories and also to review the saudi line on the killing of khashoggi. and now his newest line, and this is from one of my producers, he is describing the leader of saudi arabia this way and also talking about his son-in-law. he says theyre two young guys, meaning mbs and jared kushner. jared doesnt know him well or anything. theyre just two young people. theyre the same age. they like each other, i believe. this sort of infcharacterizatio what do you think of it? >> god gi...

One, the youngest of that team is going to be singled out and he is either going to be executed or he is going to be disappeared in some way and his tribe and his family will be owed a favor by the king of saudi arabia. the rest of them will all be banished to mecca, mbs will get out of this scott clear and you will hear a letter of intent on weapons sales to the united states that donald trump can walk around the campaign trail. >> is it really that cynical? is that what were looking forward to...

There. >> it is the way in which donald trump almost represents himself as if hes just -- he just knows about as much as you or i. hes just a consumer of information as a regular guy, not the president of the united states. >> yeah. not the commander in chief who has his own intelligence agencies, doesnt have access to nato ally that shows lets play a game of clue. 15 saudis did it in the saudi consulate of turkey with a bone saw at the behest of mbs. theres been four stories of mbs. mbs is in c...

Latest story has deception and lies. but mbs is very strong. hes in control. and he keeps things, quote, in check. and i think thats very key here, joy, is that this crystallizes the u.s.-saudi relationship, right? we dont mind brutal dictators as long as they are putting our interests above everything else. right now trump has three interests. number one, that the money keeps flowing. there is $110 billion arms sale which donald trump said would add 40,000 jobs. number two, people are forgettin...

Worked so intimately with the crown, yet the crown itself, the prince, had no connection or knowledge. proof? one of the men theyre looking at is ameds al asiri, a one-time two-star general known within mbs inner circle as the chief architect behind the kingdoms war in yemen. sources say it was he who chose the team involved in khashoggis disappearance. and while its unclear who exactly is being detained, we know turkish officials are investigating this man, okay? so lets take a look at this. no...

And the balance community would be wise to assume at that saudis are playing a game to distance the crown prince rather than find the truth. >> so as we go and lean on this word "credible" now, how credible do you find or do you expect the administration should find this 30-day investigation thats led by mbs? >> look, i think that certainly theres indications that the goal will be to relieve mbs of his open culpability rather than find the truth. that said, there may not be that many options. th...

Thats the first component. the second component is that the saudis announced that they have detained 18 saudi nationals in conjunction with khashoggis murder. more interestingly, anderson, they have also dismissed two senior saudi officials. they have been relieved of their duties. one of them, general ahmed al assiri, believed to have been the spearhead or the one overseeing this mission. weve been reporting on him for days. we havent been giving his name. hes former military, high up in intell...
