And for at least one day, it was.
The City of Laredo announced only 22 new positive cases of the coronavirus and four deaths on Friday. The area now has 26,989 positives and 509 deaths historically dating back to last Month when the pandemic began locally.
The 22 positive cases are the fewest in a day in months, dating back to the 21 announced on Oct. 23. However, despite the good news, there is some reason to be skeptical.
The city simultaneously announced that 185,661 people have been tested, which is the exact same total as Thursday despite the 22 new positives being added. And being a holiday, officials canceled the noon media briefing earlier in the day.
