Washington University in St. Louis faculty hosted a one-week seminar designed to connect high school teachers to experts and resources in local Black history and culture. Participants visited University Libraries collections, explored primary sources that document life in St. Louis and took a field trip to Greenwood Cemetery, the oldest Black cemetery in the region.
Launched in 2014, the College Prep Program at Washington University in St. Louis is a free, immersive learning experience that prepares talented local high school students for college life. During their first Summer Academy experience on campus, the scholars engaged for two weeks in workshops and undergraduate coursework ranging from science experiments to writing poetry.
