The first ‘Steve McQueen Edition’ of the Ford Mustang Bullitt has hit the used car market and is looking for a new home.
Each and every Ford Mustang Bullitt to leave the factory was pretty special but that didn’t stop Steeda, McQueen Racing, and Galpin Auto Sports from coming together to make the muscle car even more potent.
Most notably, the companies behind the project outfitted the 5.0-liter V8 with a massive supercharger that ups power to a cool 775 hp and 630 lb-ft (854 Nm) of torque, meaning the Steve McQueen Edition actually has more power than even the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
This would get Steve McQueen s stamp of approval.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bullitt starring Steve McQueen, Ford built a special Bullitt version of the current-generation Mustang, which debuted at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show alongside the original iconic Mustang that starred in the famous chase scene set in San Francisco.
Like the original movie car, the Ford Mustang Bullitt is finished in Highland Green. Other modifications include black 19-inch five-spoke wheels, a rear spoiler, and special Bullitt badging. Under the hood, Ford massaged the Mustang s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 to produce 480 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Sadly, the Mustang Bullitt is no longer in production and has been replaced by the more powerful Mustang Mach 1. If you want to own one, your only option is to browse the used car classifieds.
