Rail link resumes at Joypurhat after 7 hrs

JOYPURHAT, Dec 19, 2020 (BSS) – Rail communications between Joypurhat and rest of the country resumed seven hours after a passenger train rammed into a bus at Puranapoil rail level crossing here this morning.
Two probe committees have been formed to investigate the accident that killed at least 12 people and injured eight others.
Mihir Kanti Guha, General Manager of the Railway West told BSS that two rescue trains from Parbatipur and Pakshi removed the passenger train from the track at around 2.00.
Rail communications resumed at around 2:40 pm, he added.
A-four member probe committee of the Railway West zone was formed as Divisional Transportation Officer Nasir Uddin its convener to investigate the accident.
