Brevard County's signature fundraising annual event, “Dancing For the Space Coast,” was presented Saturday night at Florida Tech's Clemente Center to an enthusiastic who's-who sold-out crowd of more than 800 people.

Standouts from Washburn Rural, Marysville, Nemaha Central, and Clay Center were invited to the game.

The committee voted to remove three poetry books, all by Rupi Kaur, from Brevard Public School libraries and classrooms.

With a sold out crowd ready to pack inside the Clemente Center, one of the dancers in this year’s event is New York native Jessica Cartagena Assam has called Florida home since 1986 and has lived in Melbourne since 2007.

The Brevard school board plans to revise the policy, saying allowing anonymous submissions has caused unintentional consequences.
