(Patch file photo) MILFORD, MA Preliminary results in the 2021 Milford town election are in, showing who s ahead in the five contested races this spring. In the School Committee race the most crowded with five candidates up for three seats incumbents Meghan Hornberger and Christopher Wilson and challenger Matthew Zacchilli were in the lead. In the open Town Moderator race, Michelangelo Bon Tempo was beating Gerald Moody Sr. The town also now officially has a new Select Board member, with former health officer Paul Mazzuchelli taking William Kingkade s seat. Mazzuchelli did not face an opponent in 2021.

Candidate forums scheduled ahead of Milford election The Milford Daily News MILFORD The nonpartisan resident group Citizens for Milford will hold candidate forums next month for four of the five contested races in the April 6 local election. There are 15 elected jobs up for grabs in local government. School Committee, moderator, Parks Commission, Board of Assessors and library trustees all collected enough candidates for races. The three people running for two available library trustee terms declined a candidate forum, but Citizens for Milford will devote an evening to each of the remaining four races. “Providing information to voters during our Town Election season is an ongoing commitment for Citizens for Milford,” organization Chairperson Geri Eddins said in a press release. “With the Town Election slated for April 6, we are pleased to continue our tradition of hosting Candidate Forum events. Milford school board candidates look to stand out at local debate

The Milford Daily News MILFORD There are three seats open on the School Committee in this spring s town election, and five candidates made their cases this week on public television. That Milford Show, hosted by Alberto Correia and shown on Milford TV, the town’s local cable station, hosted a candidates’ forum on Thursday. All five School Committee candidates slated to appear on the April 6 ballot appeared. Candidates include Meghan Hornberger, R.J. Sheedy, Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., Christopher Wilson and Matthew Zacchilli. Hornberger and Wilson are incumbents. All five agreed on several issues. All said children learn best in person and agreed children need to get back into classrooms, but they advised caution around the pandemic.
