While we wait for the official launch of the Meizu 18 series, the company is releasing more teasers of these smartphones. Today, it released two new teasers of the Meizu 18 and 18 Pro which will officially launch on March 3. These smartphones come with a 6.2-inch display but the Meizu 18 is very light. However, the Meizu 18 Pro boasts of better features like the 2K resolution screen which is its main selling point.
According to Meizu, the appointment is active on Meizu Mall, Meizu Stores, Tmall, JD.com, Suning.com, etc. The company will release the Meizu 18 series 5G dual flagships at 14:30 on March 3 at Zhuhai Grand Theater.
In May last year, Meizu unveiled the Meizu 17 series with “Snapdragon 865 + UFS 3.1 storage + Super AMOLED display”. Recently, there have been reports on the Meizu 18 series and more information are hitting the web. According to information out of China, the Meizu 18 will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. This chip is still a 7nm chip but is more like a Snapdragon 865++. From the speculations so far, the Meizu 18 will likely come with a center punch-hole camera.
However, if the Meizu 18 really uses the Snapdragon 870, it will be a low-end flagship. Considering that the latest flagship all uses 5nm chips, the 7nm SD870 will be below par. From the leak, on the camera column, we have 64MP + 12MP + 5MP. This shows that this device will come with a triple rear camera setup. On the software end, we can see Flyme 8.3 on top of Android 11. This system should be the upcoming Flyme 9.
Meizu may release Flyme 9 launch information tomorrow
Chinese manufacturer, Meizu, has not been very consistent in the smartphone market in recent times. Last year, the company only released the Meizu 17 series. However, the company is still active in the market, and its getting set to unveil the Meizu 18 series. Meizu phones come with its Flyme OS and it’s latest Flyme 9 is currently in development. According to a recent teaser from the company, it will announce “a good show” at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning.
Judging from the official warm-up of Flyme so far, we may get the launch information for Flyme 9 tomorrow. Meizu Flyme announced last year that the Meizu 17 series began testing the new version of Flyme on top of the Android 11 system. The company is working on some upgrades and new features in this system. From the reports so far, the Meizu 18 series will come with Flyme 9 (Android 11) out of the box.
