Reviewing Covid-19 vaccination drive in the state, the chief minister said that the current electoral process has had an effect on it. As there are only six days left to the rural and urban local body elections, the state workforce has been pressed into election duty.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday said that the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) elections be completed at the earliest to accelerate the vaccination process in the state.

Amaravati, March 17 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday recommended retired high court judge M. Seetharama Murti as the chairperson of the state human rights commission (SHRC).
He chaired the SHRC meeting and recommended retired district judge Dande Subramanyam as judicial and advocate G. Srinivasa Rao as non-judicial members of the commission.
The meeting was held at the secretariat to finalise the names for chairperson and members of AP SHRC.

Reddy honoured Sita Mahalakshmi (99), daughter of Venkaiah in traditional Telugu style by spreading a shawl around her and presented a memento.
Later, he sat beside Mahalakshmi and had a conversation with her and all her family members, encompassing up to three generations

There was jubilation and tears of joy among some family members as the Chief Minister personally visited their home.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the Home Minister said, Special help desks for women have been arranged at all police stations in the state. They have come into force from today itself. I also thank our Chief Minister for increasing the number of casual leaves for women employees to 20 days per year.
Andhra Pradesh Director-General of Police, Gautam Sawang, said: The rate of crimes against women has decreased in the state by more than seven per cent in the past year.
