HERMISTON — With watermelon season in full swing, the Hermiston Downtown District is celebrating the town’s favorite fruit.

For the first time since 2019, craft vendors on Grand River Avenue will return Saturday and Sunday.

HERMISTON — The Hermiston Downtown District is seeking vendors for Melon Fest.

When it comes to positives, Howell has plenty, including the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest and a historic downtown with small businesses galore.

Melon Fest will feature face painting, a photo booth, kids' games, an obstacle course, food and craft vendors, and FREE watermelon slices.

Between live music, family-friendly events, prizes and free slices of succulent Hermiston watermelon, this year's Melon Fest should be sweet!

The Howell Melon Festival will be smaller this year than previous years due to the pandemic and last-minute schedule changes, but there are still plenty of activities to partake in over the weekend.

The Green Oak Township home was spray-painted after the owner weighed in on controversy surrounding a drag event on local radio.

After a year of canceled races, virtual races and races living in limbo, the racing community is ready to hit the roads again.
