Man killed in tractor accident in Stearns County
The man had been operating the tractor, pulling a trailer, while sanitizing the interior of a turkey barn, according to the sheriff s office release.

MELROSE, Minn. A Melrose, Minn., man was killed Friday, Jan. 8, in a tractor accident.
The Stearns County Sheriff s Office responded to a 911 call at about 5:21 p.m. Friday, according to a news release. When officers arrived at the property, on about 2 miles west of Melrose on County Road 186, they found Keith Deane Kingsley, 32, entangled and trapped in the power take off shaft of the tractor he was using, according to the release

MELROSE, MA The police department welcomed three new officers who graduated from the academy.
Officers Alexander Wilson, Ashley Baldwin and Lucas Kaestner graduated from the Lowell Police Academy earlier this month and were sworn in Dec. 14. There was no formal graduation ceremony due to the pandemic. I am excited to welcome these three new officers to the force, Mayor Paul Brodeur said in a release. Their diverse skills and training will benefit the department and the community now and in the future.

An Alexandria man was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 near Melrose Wednesday, Dec. 23 at about 11:45 a.m.
Harlan Leroy Walberg, 76, was driving a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis east on the freeway near mile marker 137 in Stearns County when the vehicle spun out and hit the Sauk River bridge barricade, according to the State Patrol.
The roads were covered with snow and ice at the time of the crash.
Walberg, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to the Melrose hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Police are searching for a suspect after a bank was robbed Saturday morning in Melrose, Massachusetts.
The Santander Bank, located at 492 Main Street, was robbed around 9 a.m., Melrose Police Chief Michael Lyle said.
Police say the suspect came into the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding the teller put money in a brown paper CVS bag. He fled northbound on Main Street with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
