Teens in the Oneida County Youth Employment Program are cleaning up the New Forest Cemetery in Utica after the property was abandoned by its board last month.
BUZZARDS BAY The Board of Selectmen on Monday raised concerns about whether a partially developed apartment complex downtown will be finished.
Situated across from Bourne Town Hall on Perry Avenue, the Tides of Bourne will be a 55-plus, age-restricted apartment complex that will include 122 apartments with various amenities such as a shared fitness center, library, community room, lounge, chapel, movie theater and more.
But the project has been stuck in limbo due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading the selectmen to wonder aloud about its future.
“People come into Buzzards Bay and Town Hall when it is open and that is the first thing they see,” Selectman Peter Meier said during the board s meeting Tuesday. “That is not the image we are looking for in Bourne.”
