Beginning July 16, the Mercer Island Library extended its hours by one hour on weekdays and will be open on Saturday and closed on Sunday. New hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday; noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The library is located at 4400 88th Ave. SE.
Author BJ Cummings will discuss her book “The River That Made Seattle,” a human and natural history of the Duwamish, at 6 p.m. on March 28 at the Mercer Island Library. Registration is not required for the event, which is presented by Humanities Washington in partnership with the Mercer Island Historical Society and sponsored by the Friends of the Mercer Island Library.
The Dickens Carolers will perform holiday songs in their Victorian costumes from 2-3 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Mercer Island Library. All ages welcome. The performance will be part of the Friends of the Mercer Island Library book sale. The library is located at 4400 88th St. Courtesy photo
