Michael Collins did not walk on the Moon; instead, he orbited the lunar surface during that first Moon landing, keeping vigil over Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin as they walked the surface below.
Philip Brockman, who spent four decades working as a physicist in the space program at NASA Langley Research Center, died this week in North Carolina. He was 79.
