Four injured in collision north of Mason City Crash is under investigation. Posted By: Mike Bunge MASON CITY, Iowa – Four people are sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision just north of Mason City. It happened around 11:17 am at the intersection of 300th Street and Orchid Avenue. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says Aleigha Bakkum, 21 of Mason City, was driving south when Maxine Kruger, 89 of Grafton, entered the intersection. The crash injured both drivers and two passengers in Bakkum’s vehicle, Sophia Juarez, 5, and Angel Herman, 20. All four were taken to MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa for treatment of their injuries. The Sheriff’s Office says all four were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Posted: Apr 27, 2021 5:46 PM Posted By: Mike Bunge CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A Mason City drive is hurt after running off the road at a highway interchange. The Iowa State Patrol says Garrette True, 30, was westbound on Highway 18 and taking the cloverleaf ramp to southbound Interstate 35, south of Clear Lake, when True’s vehicle left the roadway, rolled down the embankment, and ended up on its side. This accident happened around 12:42 PM Tuesday. The State Patrol says True’s life was saved by wearing a seatbelt and True was flown by helicopter to MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa for treatment of injuries.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday December 18, 2020 at Crystal Lake Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake, Iowa with Pastor Les Green of the United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake officiating. Per state mandate, masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced. Memorials may be directed to the Crystal Lake Township Cemetery fund. Schott Funeral Homes, Forest City in charge of local arrangements.
