A ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in 2013 found that it was unconstitutional to sentence juveniles convicted of first-degree murder to life without parole, making Gerard McCra, who was 15 when he shot and killed his parents and younger sister in 1993 in Rochester, and Richard Baldwin, who was 16 when he shot and killed his teen girlfriend in 1992 in Groveland, eligible for parole hearings.
Gerard McCra, now known as Kuluwm Asar, killed his parents and 11-year-old sister in Rochester in 1993. He had a hearing before the parole board Thursday.
