audience, democrats, republicans, independent voters, do you think the border is secure and 1% raise their hand. it looked like there were about 100 people in the room. if that s what s going on, if you have a room that does have a bunch of democrats and some independents who are going to swing and vote for tim ryan you could expect and you had one person who was raising their hand on it, you have an issue that you have to address. even just on the messaging level. putting aside the sheer numbers of this, people are not seeing this and walking away from it and saying something different. they are saying exactly what it is and it hasn t been a big issue if you look at the most recent polling. public safety and crime is not really border issues or national security but it weighs on people is something the administration is just not addressing. dana: we have resources. fox news invests, we have people in texas, able to get to arizona
in 2020 thatri didn t actually happen. what s happening, though, on state level legislatures and this is where republicans i think are going to start pointing to what s happening across the states of proof of what they can do if they re given power again in the midterms is looking at state legislatures passing things like critical race theory bans or trying to in this special session. restrictive voting bills happening in places like texas, florida, georgia. those are the places where republicans have to look for the incubators of what republicans can do if they have power because on a national level, on a messaging level, a lot of it is backwards looking while democrats are trying to show, hey, we have power right now. we will actually get things done. of course, if this is why the infrastructure push is so important, because it could prove that bipartisanship still exists in washington, or it could prove that democrats don t know what to do with power while they have it. ey daniel,

of this scuffling. she went to stanford. oxford. was senior director of african affairs at the national security council. u.s. assistant secretary of state for african affairs. worked at brookings. heather and ben, she worked for the obama campaign. so at a messaging level, i think i made my point whether people agree or not about why there may not be the votes to stop her. have the republicans achieved something here by putting her entire record to the side? i mean, that s funny. the objection to susan rice, she s too blunt, too plain spoken, not a good diplomat. in her career has been the complaint about her. i mean, i think that it seems like the republican line is not holding on this. marco rubio and others came out of a briefing, a classified briefing last week, saying the question isn t really susan rice and looks like that came from the director of national swe intelligence office, the misstatements, but the question is the security of the embassy is what they want to dig her
