More than 30 students at a university in Davao City were food poisoned after allegedly eating pastil sold during a three-day fundraising event on campus. Pastil is a Filipino rice dish made from steamed rice with dry shredded beef, chicken, or fish and wrapped in banana leaves. The students were taken to the hospital and are being treated. The university has not issued an official statement on the incident.
