State reports 1,465 new COVID-19 cases and 36 deaths | The NM Political Report

December 25, 2020 State health officials reported 1,465 new cases of COVID-19 on Christmas Day Friday. The state has now identified 136,622 cases of the disease since the start of the pandemic in March.  Bernalillo County had the most new cases, with 428. Three other counties had more than 100 new cases: San Juan County (167), Doña Ana County (145) and Chaves County (108). The state also reported 2 new cases among inmates held by the New Mexico Corrections Department across two facilities.  The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) also reported 36 deaths related to the illness. A total of 2,307 have died with COVID-19 since March.  DOH provided some information on each of the newly reported deaths:

State reports 1,174 new cases of COVID-19, 40 deaths | The NM Political Report

December 23, 2020 The New Mexico Department of Health reported 1,174 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and 40 related deaths. The state has identified a total of 133,242 cases and 2,243 related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March.  Bernalillo County had the most new cases with 337. Only two other counties reported more than 100 new cases: Doña Ana County (133) and San Juan County (102).  The state also identified 10 new cases of COVID-19 among inmates held by the New Mexico Corrections Department at various facilities across the state and one death among inmates at the Central New Mexico Correctional Facility in Valencia County.  DOH provided some information on each of the 40 newly reported deaths:

Andy Lyman The state Department of Health reported 1,463 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The department also reported 31 additional deaths related to the disease. Bernalillo County had the most newly reported cases on Friday, with 418. Four other counties had 100 or more newly reported cases on Friday: Doña Ana County (137), San Juan County (131), Sandoval County (117) and McKinley County (111). DOH also reported 31 new cases among inmates at five New Mexico Corrections Department facilities. On Friday, the department reported 889 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 37 people since Thursday. This could include those from other states who are hospitalized in New Mexico, but would not include New Mexicans who are hospitalized out of state.
