Panel of Chairman in Punjab Assembly is authorized to administer oath
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The panel of chairman in the Punjab Assembly is authorized to take oath of any member in the Assembly.
According to details, on June 12, 2020, PTI MPA Sania Kamran took the oath of office which was administered by the Panel of Chairman Mian Shafi Mohammad. The oath was taken in the hall of Faletti’s hotel.
The hall of the Faletti’s hotel was given the status of Assembly Hall because of Coronavirus. Mian Shafi took the oath in the absence of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat and DG Parliamentary Affairs Inayatullah Lak were also present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Lahore: Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that breast cancer tests of women prisoners present in jails should be ensured at the earliest, health facilities for 45 beds hospital in Sahiwal are inadequate.
He said: “I myself had made a menu for prisoners during my tenure but now its quality is not the same.”
He further added that there has been no improvement in facilities for prisoners in jails in the last 10 years which is a matter of concern, X-ray and CT scan facilities are not available in jails of the hospitals. A session of Punjab Assembly has been summoned on Monday.
Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi issued the notification for the session as acting governor in view of a summary of the provincial law and parliamentary affairs department.
The 28th session of the current assembly is likely to continue for a month and the House is expected to approve several important laws.
As many as 21 bills are in various stages of approval from the Punjab Assembly and its standing committees. The Standing Committee on Higher Education has approved the draft bill of the Institute of Science and Technology, Dera Ghazi Khan. Several new bills will also be presented in the House.

The government s failure to notify the Free and Compulsory Education Bill after its approval six years ago has resulted in an inordinate delay in formulation of the rules of business for its implementation.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government also kept the bill in the cold storage during the past almost two and a half years. Finally, in the recent session of the Punjab Assembly, 13 lawmakers from the PTI, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) jointly presented an amendment under private members business to implement the bill.
