The most concerning aspect of the border crisis is the increasing number of illegal aliens who are getting away, says National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd.
“We don’t know who they are, where they’re from, or what their intentions are,” Judd told The Epoch Times.
“When you look at border security, when you look at the border, we have to be able to identify who’s coming into the United States. And if we can’t do that,
it’s impossible to protect the American public.”
In February, Border Patrol estimated that around 30,000 illegal aliens crossed the U.S.–Mexico border and evaded capture; in March, it was around 37,000; and the preliminary numbers for April show around 42,600 escaped. That’s about 1,400 per day.

Both Hidalgo and Cameron County sheriffs said they were not invited to speak about or if their deputies are being affected by the increase of immigrants. However, the neighboring county sheriffs said the effect in their areas is overwhelming.

Towns across Texas are being overwhelmed by tens of thousands of surging illegal migrants, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton told a press conference Wednesday.
The press conference took place along the U.S. border with Mexico and included sheriffs from cities across the state who are “overwhelmed” by the surge of illegal migrants.
Pinky Gonzales, sheriff of Refugio County, Texas, said the rural area 180 miles north of the border with a population of 1,000 has been invaded by lawbreakers.
“We have had these human smugglers go through our town going 80 miles an hour in a 35-mile speed zone,” Gonzales said. “I mean this is serious stuff. They have no regard for property or human lives, I mean at all.”
