With all due respect to now 3-time PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka, it was an average Joe who stole the show in the golf season's second major of the year. And now because of that, golf fans in Texas have a chance to see him up close and personal.

This past Saturday, Michael Block, golf’s 46-year-old everyman, was playing shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s top players at the PGA Championship in New York state. Against all odds, he was holding his own so well that by Sunday, he was paired with arguably the greatest golfer of his generation, Rory McIlroy, a four-time major champion.

Much like the rest of the golf community, Paige Spiranac can't get enough of the breakout star of this year's PGA Championship, club professional Michael Block.

Michael Block said he was blown away by the response he's received after his top 15 finish at the PGA Championship, most notably a complimentary text from Michael Jordan.

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — All those injuries that made Brooks Koepka wonder if he was still among golfs elite were put to rest Sunday at Oak Hill when he beat the strongest field of the year and won the PGA Championship for his fifth major title. Determined as ever to restore his reputation as the player to beat in the majors, Koepka ran off three quick birdies early, never lost the lead amid a gritty fight from Viktor Hovland and closed with a 3-under 67 for a two-shot victory.

Koepka won his third Wanamaker Trophy — only Jack Nicklaus and Walter Hagen with five and Tiger Woods with four have won the PGA Championship more times. His five majors all have been won since June of 2017, but he hadn't been victorious in a Grand Slam event in four years.
