The backdrop to this, the month of january is typically one of the wettest around the bay area during the calendar year. So rain averages for the month over 4 inches in San Francisco. Close to that in oakland. San jose almost 3 inches of rain. But its kind of unusual for the next seven days is we can see maybe more than half of that falling in the next seven days thanks to four storms on the way. They are giving us a birdseye view of some of the delays we have been talking about westbound 580. We have had several accidents all of them on 580 in oakland where theres been reports of flooding as well and cars hydroplaning. Right here westbound 580 looks like this might be along highway 24. Certainly we are seeing very long delays for both 580 and highway 24 at this hour. Westbound 580 is backed up beyond park boulevard. And right here is another example right here this fender bender and spinout an example of what were seeing on bay area roads. Cars simply losing control hydroplaning and crashing into the Center Divider or the right hand shoulder. So give yourself some extra time to get into work or school this morning. On the storm impact scale it is a two. You can expect half an inch to an inch of rain in most areas. The stormest part is tomorrow mornings commute with gusts up to 45 miles an hour. The wind advisory is up for the north bay mountains. It runs until 10 00 a. M. And the power lines are getting knocked down with gusts 45 to 50 miles an hour. We are expecting the wind to continue. Most of the rain is up to the north and the north bay and 2 00 a. M. It picks up in intensity and 4 00 a. M. The north bay is getting hit, but the other parts of the bay area will pick some up. Tonight this is one of two twisters, that touched downn live, from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix5 news. Tornadoes hit close to home tonight. This is one of two twisters that touched down in northern california. This is something we rarely ever see around here. Two tornadoes in one day rare. Two tornadoes on Christmas Eve in california . Very rare. One tornado touched down in modesto. The other one in El Dorado Hills east of sacramento. This is cell phone video. Reporter lemor abrams show us us the damage. Reporter it came from highway 50 where drivers spotted a strange white column in the sky. But it was more than a winter cloud. We could see it rotating. Reporter this grandfather and grandson team flew a Remote Control airplane right into it. We could see a funnel cloud forming over folsom point over the lake from this side. And we could see lightning as it moved through. Reporter a mean mix that wreaked havoc from folsom to El Dorado Hills. It is moving to houses. Well, mayb
