They have seen the vandalism that protesters have done to stores in oakland and are concerned the same thing may happen here. Its not okay. Reporter theres already a heavy Police Presence in the area. Here to accommodate the black friday crowd. We will stay open and see how the crowd looks and then close the door if anything that is not peaceful is happening. Reporter most of the marchers heard about the demonstration on social media. We heard from several of them and they came from santa rosa to Half Moon Bay to walnut creek. The plan is for the group to merge with another group of pro0 testers at union square. Broadcast center, this is abc news. Police are trying to move protesters who shutdown highway 24 in oakland. And in berkeley, protesters stand up to vandals breaking into businesses. Good evening. Im katie marzulo. We have live pictures from sky 7hd. The protesters right now on bancroft near dana and walking as you can see fairly straight forward at this hour. Some of the quieter moments we have seen as the protest has made its way from berkeley to oakland and back of take a look at some dramatic video from earlier in the night. Around 8 45 the protesters are ma of to highway 24 in oakland. They stopped traffic for nearly an hour. At one point, police say a protestor threw an explosive at officers. You can see that right there. Officers are moving quickly take down a protestor and tried to subdue any trouble makers. No word on why the people you can see there are taken into custody. The freeway was back open within an hour. Other protesters under the freeway tried to set a chp cruiser

It is just the latest in a series of problems for cal fraternities. Lilian kim is live on bancroft way with the story. Lilian . Katie, the party was last night, but police didnt get a call until just after 12 00 p. M. The call was about an unresponsive man on the second floor. This is what it looked like after police arrived. Plastic cups found scattered. Remanence of a party upstairs. He says he was president a member of the fraternity nor a uc berkeley student. Good thing it wasnt a student. It is devastating. Family members of the victim declined to comment and so did members of the fraternity. They are treating the mans death as suspicious until they can prove otherwise. They also say they havent ruled out drugs or alcohol. According to the site, a witness told police that vomit was found around the mans mouth. He has been to parties
