Advisers to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are meeting on Friday to discuss recommendations for use of the first vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) approved for pregnant women to protect their babies. That Pfizer shot and one developed by GSK in May became the first two RSV vaccines to win U.S. approval, for use in people aged 60 and over to prevent severe illness.
