Nick Catalana, general manager of Innovation Foods, outlined the project for city planning officials at a hearing Monday night. The Planning Board unanimously approved the project.
“We look forward to your success,” board Chairman Robert Gallaher said afterward. “And hopefully, by your success here, it will generate others to come and do other similar-type business. So, we greatly appreciate an opportunity to work with you.”
In partnership with Innovation Foods, Oatly opened its first United States facility at 719 Orange Street in 2019. The facility provided an urgently needed boost in capacity.
The company takes oats and liquifies them to the consistency of porridge that can further be processed into foods and beverages.
