Embattled Alameda County District Attorney pamela price holds a virtual town hall on Public Safety. This is ktvu fox two news at 730. And good evening, everyone. Im heather holmes. We begin tonight with a tragic passing of an Oakland Police officer, jordan wingate. His death comes after a 2018 crash while on duty, where he was seriously injured. Ktvu crystal bailey tonight talking to wingates father, who is a retired opd captain. Crystal. Well, he tells me as a little boy, jordan wingate always wanted to be a Police Officer and just a couple years into serving his community, that fateful day in 2018 took him off the streets and left him in a state of limited consciousness. His family says his body gave out all these years later, and they spent the last few days with him in hospice. But his family prepares for his Memorial Service later on this week. And its not long before the case found its way to the das office that since launcheded an informal investigation. And no charges are filed again him and the content of the exchanges between him and the students involved are not yet released but some members of the local school board make no bones of their view of the resolution. I never want to see this guy teaching in any School District ever again and reaching out to the District Attorney ez office to make sure there are charges against him. Including texting and emails and snap chat exchanges. But there is no evidence that anything physical cured. I think that teacher i am realizing i thought he was a cool teacher and did his job and a good teacher to hear Something Like that was shocking. Morgan territory road is closed. This is 10 miles east of walnut creek. Water crews cant get in there to fix this until the hills stop sliding
