Comey today talking about the president wanting to "lift the cloud" as a result of that unsubstantiated slashs dose yay put together by a former british intelligence operative. this is what comey writings. he said he had nothing to do with russia, had not been swrovd hookers in russia and had always assumed he was being recorded when in russia. he asked what we could do to lift the cloud. i replied we were investigating as quickly as we could and there would be great benefit if we didnt find any...

Many world leaders, major corporations urging him to stay. others in the west wing say keep your campaign promise and get out. more on that coming up shortly here on "americas newsroom." >> shannon: big news today the house intelligence committee issuing subpoenas in the russia probe. michael flynn and president trumps lawyer michael kohn being called to testify. three major intelligence agencies also being subpoenaed. they are seeking documents from john brennan, susan rice and samantha power. ...

Request for information regarding samantha powers. she was the united nations ambassador and served as a foreign policy advisor to then senator barack obama in his senate office before joining the administration. its pretty clear that the house intelligence committee or factions there believe she had much greater involvement than previously suggested in the unmasking investigation. and that she actually had a greater involvement than did either susan rice or john brennan. those subpoenas among s...

Kohn said he he would work with the attorneys to follow the subpoena. >> shannon: so what do we expect to hear from the president on the paris climate deal this afternoon? we are waiting. >> thats open to debate and speculation. yesterday we were getting indications the president would announce the u.s. was pulling out of the climate deal completely. then we started to get indications because he hadnt made a final decision, that maybe he would do a piecemeal approach to it. withdraw from certain...

There is speculation about whether president trump will invoke executive privilege and try to prevent comey from testifying. i think it would be a terrible mistake. but there is the argument that would be in his power. i think it would give the impression he is trying to hide something and ultimately its going to come out in the testimony in front of the fbi. but the critical thing here, and michael was certainly pointing in this direction, is that if there is ever going to be an impeachment eff...

President trump. and that is very powerful evidence that could either corroborate the account hes going to give or could fill in blanks and could possibly be used to raise questions about his testimony. so i -- you know -- as i understand it, the fbi still has not given them up. its not clear that they are going to -- >> lets ask. jim sciutto. do they have those memos yet? is that accurate? >> no, they dont, apparently. we dont know if thats because the special counsel is in effect taking over, ...

I was with the "new york times" at the time. i had "new york times" in-house counsel, david mccraw advising in the backgrounds but then i had three crack attorneys. and they ran circles around marc kasowitz team. i think the issue that raises now is the president has leaned back into his comfort zone and hired somebody who is has never defended someone who is the subject of a congressional investigation and mired in a special counsellors role at the department of justice. and theres a real issue...

Either conspiracy theories. michael the words that you used to describe cuomoeys testimony are extraordinary and momentous. whats the key question you have? >> first of all, i do think we are on the eve of what could be some of the most dramatic testimony weve seen in years. ill defer to david and others on this, but for historical precedent to have -- assuming comey is going to testify as has been reported, to have a senior u.s. government official basically go before congress under oath and ca...

Is so close to trump in so many ways that that investigation certainly wont have the appearance of impartiality and may not be impartial itself so ive called today on jeff sessions to recuse himself and if you agree with that, tv audience, tell your senator or congressman to do it. >> almost every single day seems to bring new questions about the possible connections between the trump world and the kremlin. yesterday we told you the strange tale of a back channel plan for ukraine and russia fa...
