Development of a three-building multiuse complex in Minneapolis’ Marcy-Holmes neighborhood is moving ahead after the city’s Planning Commission approved the project during its Monday meeting.
The “American Spirit” complex includes a new six-story apartment building and two existing industrial buildings, which will receive renovations. The project is at 801 Ninth St. SE, next to Interstate 35 and bordered to the north by railroad tracks.
The existing one- and two-story industrial buildings total 82,362 square feet. After renovation work is complete, they will contain an athletic field, outdoor athletic field on the rooftop, a dog exercise area, café, production space, common area and 23 studio and one-bedroom rental units, according to project planning documents.
