Plea deal reached in Davis hit-and-run fatality

Plea deal reached in Davis hit-and-run fatality Shares A Davis man who caused his friend’s death in a hit-and-run collision reached a plea agreement last week, days before the case was scheduled to go to trial. Scott Bryan Ekoniak pleaded no contest to hit-and-run and drunken-driving charges in connection with the Jan. 3 Olive Drive collision that killed 66-year-old Ernest Seyfert. Ekoniak, 47, is expected to be sentenced Aug. 11 to the time he’s already served in jail while awaiting trial, as well as probation. He’ll also be on a continuous alcohol monitoring system and must refrain from alcohol throughout his probation, according to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.

di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art prominently places Mark di Suvero sculpture at entrance to property

di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art prominently places Mark di Suvero sculpture at entrance to property Volunteers, led by local wine maker, developer, and art lover Michael Muscardini, and donations from engineers, crane operators, concrete contractors, along with approval from the Napa County building permit office, have allowed this relocation to happen. NAPA, CA .- Miracles do happen. When Mark di Suvero and Rene di Rosa first dreamed about placing the thirty-foot tall sculpture “For Veronica” on the di Rosa campus in 1993, they agreed that the best place for it would be on the hillside in front of Winery Lake. In this highly visible location, the sculpture could be seen from every direction. This would identify di Rosa as an art center, not a winery. di Suvero and di Rosa were disappointed that the County did not approve the location at that time and so they installed the work on a hill in the sculpture garden where it has stood for over 25 years.
