THE Worcester News is launching a campaign which aims to help people find a new job. Over six weeks, our Getting Worcester Back to Work campaign will be highlighting how jobseekers can find employment, consider alternative careers or begin retraining. Throughout the six weeks, we will also be offering free job adverts – in our newspaper and on our website – to employers which are recruiting, to help them find the right candidates. During the campaign, we ll be publishing articles which provide advice and ideas for people looking for a new job as well as employers seeking to recruit. Worcester News editor Michael Purton said: As we start to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic, there will be a lot of people across Worcester and Worcestershire who are seeking a new job, and lots of businesses looking to recruit, and here at the Worcester News we re best placed to bring jobseekers and employers together.

TODAY we launch our Love Local Business campaign once again to support traders as they try to recover from the lockdown. As non-essential shops, hairdressers, pubs, gyms and other businesses re-open on Monday April 12, we are urging our readers to support them by spending their money with them. Our campaign is run by the Worcester News, Malvern Gazette and Evesham Journal, in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, Worcester BID, Crowngate Shopping Centre and the University of Worcester. Michael Purton, editor of the titles, said: “This is a crucial time for local businesses as they try to recover from the impact of the lockdown which, for many, has seen them without any income for more than three months. We are fortunate to have so many great local, independent businesses and we need our community to support them now to make sure we don’t lose them.
